The Phoenix Mountain Oolong is grown on the Phoenix Mountains in Guangdong Province, China. The Phoenix Mountain Oolong, also known as Dan Cong, was a tribute tea for the emperor during the Song Dynasty. Dan Cong is very popular in southern China.
Yellow Sprig Dan Cong tea is cultivated from one the oldest Dan Cong bushes (700 years old). This tea has long dark brown leaves. Huang Zhi Xiang Dancong is named after its distinctive aroma that is similar to the fragrant golden-colored flower, “Huang Zhi Hua,” or “Orange Blossom,” that grows throughout China and Southeast Asia. When brewed, Dan Cong Yellow Spring, produces a light yellow liquor with floral fragrance and honey peach taste.

How to brew

Use freshly drawn cold water

Boil water 80℃

Use 3g tea leaves in a 350ml cup

Steep for 1 to 2 minutes (or to your taste)

Infusions: at least 3 times – don't remove the leaves from the mug, as once the water level is low, simply add more water and keep going until the flavour of the tea is gone
