Dan Cong Osmanthus is from Guangdong Province, China. After plucking and withering, the tea is rolled sideways and pan-fired creating long, gently twisted leafs. In the final stages of processing, the leaves are baked with fresh osmanthus blossoms “heat-infusing” the tea with the flower’s fragrant essential oils. As the tea brews, the bright and clear golden-yellow liquor gives you a delicate fragrance of osmanthus and fills the mouth with a wonderful mellow, very gently and very refreshing flavour.
A refreshingly light, bright, fruity, malted-honey sweetness flavour with hints of apple and apricot and a floral aroma.
How to brew
-
Use freshly drawn cold water
-
Boil water 80℃
-
Use 3g tea leaves in a 350ml cup
-
Steep for 1 to 2 minutes (or to your taste)
-
Infusions: at least 3 times – don't remove the leaves from the mug, as once the water level is low, simply add more water and keep going until the flavour of the tea is gone
