Dian Hong or 'Yunnan Gold' is quite a young tea and was first exported, to the praise of international tea markets, in 1939. Dian Hong Golden Buds is a relatively high end gourmet black tea, produced from youngest buds of a big leaf tea bush which is a unique to Yunnan province.
The main difference between Dian Hong Golden Buds and our Dian Hong Feng Qing is the amount of fine leaf buds, or "golden tips," present in the dried tea leaves. Dian Hong Golden Buds tea produces a brew that is brassy golden orange in colour with a sweet, gentle aroma and no astringency.
